Hey there, everyone. How are you all doing so far? Me? Well, I had one of the worst February in a while.

For those who don’t know, February has been a sick month for me. Starting on February 6th, I had a nasty bout of a cold. I felt weak, along with blowing out a ton of snot out my nose. To explain how bad it got, I emptied the equivalent of a tissue box during the next few days and filled up two grocery bags. And here’s the thing with me and cold: even when I’m better, the cold effects still lingered on for a while.

Still, I got better by the end of that week.

And then I fell sick on Monday evening (26th). Again.

If you’re wondering, yes, this is why I’ve been slow on getting any writing done back in February. In fact, I planned from the 7th to the 10th to be significant writing days, but because I was sick, I could not get any done. And just when I got the ball rolling again, I fell into another sickness.

Forgive me for venting here. It’s just that, for days when I planned to do a massive bout of writing, something happens that cripples it or prevents it from occurring. One prominent example is where I get an odd bout of insomnia. Basically, I would fall asleep with a plan of sleeping in since work is either evening or I’m off, only for me to wake up after four hours of sleeping. And then, during the middle of the day, my mind finally demands that I take the other half of sleeping.

Before you worry, I’ve been taking Melatonin to combat it. It’s working OK, but I can’t say anything conclusive until I’m finally over all these sicknesses.

Moving on, I plan on making March my catchup month. I hope to make good progress in February, but, well, you know. As a result, I won’t be able to do a Macro March Writing Drive this year. It’s disappointing, I know. I want to do it again this year, but I just couldn’t prepare for it.

I must say, being sick as an adult really put things in perspective.

Also, for a while now, I’ve been streaming on Picarto. There’s no consistent schedule, I should add. Mostly, it’s to write down a final draft of the stories. If you want to, you can follow me there. I don’t do voice chats; the only entertainment is videos on the side. If you want to watch this dumb writer write stories, be my guest. https://picarto.tv/Foxgamer01

Or poke fun at a random typo. That happens a lot.

Another thing I’ve been doing is making a new character. I can already guess some of your thoughts here. “Hey, you already got a fair number of characters. Heck, you brought some for a fair amount. Why create a new one now?” Honestly, I wasn’t originally planning to. And then I saw this: https://twitter.com/tsitra360/status/1755458250282344576

That made me want to create an Umbreon character for myself.

I’ve been working on creating a new one. This one will be female and, in many ways, will act as a foil to Saria the Absol. It does make a fair amount of sense, especially if she is going to be Alolan A-Ninetales’s companion. If you’re curious, here are the rough details of her character. https://tinyurl.com/muas3mvn https://tinyurl.com/ydcfddpa https://tinyurl.com/ywx2zaxa

Finally, my birthday is coming soon. March 16th, to be exact. I will be 32 years old at that point. Boy, where does the time fly?

Feel free to give me a story or a picture if you guys are willing to gift me. If you feel it might be somewhat edgy, let me know, and I’ll tell you if it’s good or not. For those who want to know what I’m interested in, here are the scraps of the artwork I got over the years. I think this would help. https://www.furaffinity.net/scraps/foxgamer01/

This isn’t a demand or anything like that. In fact, I’m more used to not getting anything from online friends. This is only if you wish to be nice.

If you want to give me something for my birthday but can’t finish a story or picture on time, here is another option. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2VD0B58IUHJYE?ref_=wl_share

I should emphasize. This is ONLY if you wish to be friendly and want to gift me something, not a demand or anything like that. It won’t end the world if I don’t get a new Kindle.

That should be everything. Thank you for listening to this long-winded journal.

Hey there, everyone. Just as the journal said, I'm opening story commissions.

Unlike last time, I'm just going to open for four slots. That is because the last one is reserved for A HailFire Change 3. Yes, there will be a third one, along with a fourth one.

Here is the ToS:

As a reminder, I did a couple of updates to the ToS, which I'll list here.

I must receive a $20 down payment before I start on a paid commission. My short stories are usually 4-5K words, so it should be fair. I have trouble getting money from commissioners (I’m far too nice), so this should make them more honest about their financials and ability to pay.

I’ll be honest when I say grammar is one of my weak points in writing. If I get fixing suggestions, I’ll be happy to receive them. If it gets super nitpicky, that’s when I’ll call it. Again, I don’t mind criticism or suggestions. If you get to that point, I’ll do my best to warn you.

OK. Here are the slots.

  1. Aleph

  2. B424

  3. Tofubread

  4. TyVulpintaur

  5. [reserved for A HailFire Change 3]

First come, first serve.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day!

I know I’m late on this one. I got lazy and had work the last couple of days. Plus, I was finishing the Frostborn book series by Jonathan Moeller. I mentioned this author before when I once recommended books to read; he was the one who wrote the Silent Order series. I also recommended the Frostborn series. It’ll be rough and episodic at first, but it improves with each book.

Plus, there aren’t enough books involving Christianity as a good force. >.|.>

In any case, what are my thoughts on 2023? To be honest, I’m still not sure. This year wasn’t as bad as the start of the 2020s. I also can’t call it good; in fact, I feel as though it’s like a frog slowly getting boiled to death. In many ways, I fear that’s what will happen for the next decade unless something drastic happens. Even then, it would likely not be a good thing.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Overall, I feel as though I become stagnant. It’s not as though I haven’t been pushing myself in writing since I wrote stuff that drives me. More like my various accounts’ growth has stalled with little way to kickstart the engine. Of course, I have no one else to blame but myself for the extended hiatus. I bet I would be further along if I had been consistently writing and posting stuff during that period. My Patreon account felt it, finally surpassing the $2 a month I’ve been getting since March 2022.

My family still lives in the rental home instead of at the property. The contractors are so backed up that my dad still hasn’t been on a list. He’s also been looking for a job for the last few months, though no luck yet. I hope he gets a job soon; money isn’t infinite, no matter how much Tom Fawkes tells you. In a way, that doesn’t help with the feeling of stagnation.

Work has been alright so far. Some annoying parts, though it was early last year. Much like last year, I also won the Employee of the Month for December. I find that to be hilarious and kind of sad since, even now, I still don’t feel like I’m at that quality.

Yes. I’m aware of the irony. I felt stagnant regarding my online writing side’s growth and got annoyed, yet I feel undeserving for winning Employee of the Month three out of four December. XD;

My mind is funny like that.

As for future plans, I will make some changes to my Patreon account. I believe its slow growth is because it feels unneeded. After all, people want to get early access stuff, which I haven’t been doing. In fact, I posted the final drafts on Patreon at the same time as on my regular accounts. The reason why I do so is because I feel doing early access stuff is somewhat passive-aggressive. Given that I’ve been told I have a passive-aggressive problem, it was something I wanted to avoid.

Still, if it helps get me new supporters, I’ll try it.

I’m also planning on cutting out the shorties option for my Patreon. It’s a shame since I like writing them and had plenty of practice thanks to the two writing drives. At the same time, I do want to focus on writing the usual short stories. Besides, I doubt they’ll be missed. XD

For commission work, I’m going to make a couple of changes.

One is that I must receive a $20 down payment before I start on a paid commission. My short stories are usually 4-5K words, so it should be fair. I have trouble getting money from commissioners (I’m far too nice), so this should make them more honest about their financials and ability to pay.

Another change is with the final editing. I’ll be honest when I say grammar is one of my weak points in writing. If I get fixing suggestions, I’ll be happy to receive them. If it gets super nitpicky, that’s when I’ll call it. Again, I don’t mind criticism or suggestions. If you get to that point, I’ll do my best to warn you all.

Then again, I’m a super nice guy. XD;

That’s basically it. I hope the property gets built this year, even if it means leaving the store I work in. I hope my dad gets a job, even if it means I do the cooking. I hope my accounts get a considerable boost for this year. And I hope that you all have a wonderful year.

P.S.

To those on Twitter/X who didn’t see me post something for #MacroMonday or #TFTuesday, this is what I have to say. I basically ran out of material. XD

As a result, I’m not doing that this year. I hope you all don’t mind.

Hey there. Happy late Halloween. Or Howlween. I hope that you all had a lot of fun. Still, that is not the main point of this journal. The main point is that I am doing another Macro Writing Drive. This time, it’s: Macro March Adventure with A-Ninetales!!! This time, I am going to do something a little different. While it will still count for Twitter/X and Blue Sky (also, I have a Blue Sky account and three invite codes), I will also post each part here. Outside of today, each part will be posted on the fifth, tenth, fifteenth, etc. Each one will show him growing. By how much is what you, the viewers, can decide. The premise of this Macro Writing Drive is that A-Ninetales has worn himself down, though he tries to hide it. So, Saria recruits Glaurung and Glorfindel to help him relax through the one thing he loves most: growing. Glorfindel helps hide them while Glaurung brings Flame Orbs made to explode upon A-Ninetales touching them. Much like the last writing drive, this one will have A-Ninetales’s starting growth to be 500 feet. For every like, he will gain 10 feet; for every repost, he will gain 20 feet; for every dollar, he will gain 100 feet. Starting on the tenth, it will work under the multiplication table, with him growing at least double his previous height. For every like, it will add .1; for every repost, it will add .5; and for every dollar, it will add 1. As for why I am doing this now, well, it is pretty simple. While the last Macro Writing Drive ended with me donating the money to CancerCare, this one will be more selfish. Truth be told, my writing laptop has been struggling lately. Updates take hours to complete; when it is updating, everything goes sluggish, and it may get sluggish when turning on, forcing me to reset it multiple times. So, I am planning on getting a replacement one. It does not need to be powerful; it just needs to work well enough to write. Much like last time, I do not expect to get much (heck, I am still surprised by how much I did get). Still, I hope it will be just as fun as last time. I know that money is tight for various reasons. Just know that, with every dollar everyone donates, I will get closer to a new writing laptop and, thus a new writing experience. Thank you all for listening to this dumb guy’s talking. Here are the donation links. paypal.me/foxgamer01 http://ko-fi.com/foxgamer01

Q and A

2 min read

I know I am a bit late in posting this. And by a bit, I mean I planned on posting at least two hours after Prologue. I admit that I got lazy.

In any case, here is where you can ask me questions. While I like the main focus to be on Once Upon a Time in England and The Werewolf Connection, I am opening this for everything regarding my stories and characters. I do have a couple of rules, however.

One is no sexual-related questions. Even after entering my thirties, I am still shy about it and still have my filters up. If you like it, that is fine. I am just one of those guys who does not like seeing people nude (yet thinks big-breasted people are OK). The most you guys can ask about is shipping-related stuff.

Two is regarding spoilers, which will be a tricky one. To explain, I am willing to share spoilers, particularly those on projects that went nowhere or so off the writing table that it could take years until I write them, if that. I admit that my ‘saga,’ The Legend of the Fox, is way too ambitious for one guy to do. Heck, much of the current stuff I am writing involving Daren Crevan and the others these days is in the third arc, which I dub ‘He’s Counting Down.’ So, I am willing to share plans regarding my saga. Just know that I will not share spoilers for some of the projects I am certain to write (The Pokémon Prometheus 3).

Those are the rules. I may add more, but that depends on the questions I will get.

In any case, ask away!
